Report to the Managing Estimator in a team

Tender new build and refurbishment projects from $1M-$50M

Mixed use commercial building and refurb contractor

Current project portfolio includes defence, retirement living, medical centres. Multi-level office fit-outs.

Experience as a QS and Estimator highly desirable

CostX and Buildsoft Cubit estimating software highly desirable

Salary negotiable for the right candidate, anticipated to be between $150,000 - $200,000+Super (D.O.E)

The Company:

Our client is a national Construction Management contractor in the interior fit out, refurbishment and new-build space that has successfully completed a wide range of projects across the defence, commercial, industrial and aged care sectors over the past 20 years. They have a successful trading history which has seen head-count rise to over 100 permanent members of staff across NSW and QLD. Now, due to targeted growth through repeat business and additional investment in the team they are seeking an Estimator to join the pre-construction team. This is a permanent position working out of their offices in Brisbane, but work from home options are available.

The Position:

By leveraging of existing clients, strong systems and repeat sub-contractors, you will tender on a range of D&C refurbishment and new build commercial construction projects across which will in the retirement living and defence sectors, valued at $1M - $50M.

Your duties will include but not limited to;

Prepare and develop accurate cost estimates by calculating and prepare quantities.

Ability to read and interpret contractual documents, specifications and drawings.

Preparing take-offs and review quotes.

Review tender package to ensure all relevant information has been received, assessing scope, risks involved, tender complexity etc.

RFI’s to the client to ensure a complete set of tender documents.

Assist with preparing and developing construction methodologies, programs and submission documentation

Compile letter of offer, tender schedules, program and other items required by the tender

Completed tenders to be submitted for reviewed with the GM prior to submission

Use of CUBIT / CostX Estimating software
