Position Summary - Junior Accountants, Graduate or Undergraduate Accountants

To assist other staff with compliance and advisory matters for a portfolio of clients.

Contribute to accounting, taxation, consulting and other areas.

Uphold firm values and culture.


Position Responsibilities

Under the guidance of your managers and peers, you will focus on:

Assist the admin team where necessary in preparation of client correspondence and any

additional requirements.

Preparation of BAS, IAS, GST.

Preparation of Tax returns across all entity types.

Preparation of Financial Statements.

Compiling working papers following company policies.

Help to identify, research and resolve accounting issues.

Post and process journal entries.

Updating accounts receivable and issue invoices.

Updating accounts payable and perform reconciliations.

Assist in the processing of balance sheets, income statements and other financial statements according to legal and company accounting and financial guidelines.

Assist with reviewing of expenses, payroll records etc. as assigned.

Update financial data in databases to ensure that information will be accurate and

immediately available when needed.

Assist senior accountants in the preparation of monthly/yearly closings.

Assist with other accounting projects.

Position Qualifications

Commenced or completed Bachelor's in accounting or equivalent required.

Xero Certified.

Position Experience Required

Experience as a junior accountant is desirable but not essential.

• Excellent organising abilities.

• Great attention to detail.

• Good with numbers and figures and an analytical acumen.

• Good understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices.

• Excellent knowledge of MS Office and familiarity with relevant computer software.

• Cloud-based accounting environment.

• Awareness of accounting and business systems, including:

Xero & Xero Practice Manager.

Self-Managed Superannuation Fund applications, if appropriate.

Other cloud-based operational solutions.

• Knowledge and willingness to learn:

Document Management.

Client Engagement solutions.

Electronic Signing solutions.

ATO Tax Portal.
