About the role

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic 4th Year Air-conditioning & Refrigeration Apprentice to join the team at Watt A Breeze Air-conditioning & Electrical. This is a full-time apprenticeship position based in Adelaide SA . As a 4th year apprentice, you will be in the final stages of your apprenticeship, working towards completing your qualification whilst gaining practical experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of air-conditioning and refrigeration systems. This role is crucial to our operations, as you will be contributing to delivering high-quality climate control solutions to our residential and commercial clients across Adelaide.

What you'll be doing

Assisting qualified technicians with the installation of air-conditioning and refrigeration systems in residential and commercial properties

Performing maintenance and servicing on existing air-conditioning and refrigeration units to ensure optimal performance

Diagnosing faults and assisting with repairs to air-conditioning and refrigeration systems

Learning to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints relevant to HVAC systems

Safely handling refrigerants and other materials in accordance with Australian regulations and environmental standards

Assisting with pipe work, electrical connections, and system commissioning under supervision

Maintaining accurate job records and documentation for completed work

Contributing to a safe working environment by following health and safety procedures and best practices

Completing the final stages of your apprenticeship training and working towards your Certificate III in Air-conditioning and Refrigeration

What we're looking for

Currently enrolled in or actively progressing through the 4th year of an air-conditioning and refrigeration apprenticeship with a registered training provider

Demonstrated commitment to learning and completing your qualification

Strong practical skills and the ability to work with hand tools and electrical equipment

A solid understanding of air-conditioning and refrigeration principles, systems, and components

Knowledge of relevant Australian standards and regulations, including those relating to refrigerant handling and electrical safety

Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow technical instructions accurately

Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team

A valid driver's licence and ability to travel to various job sites across Adelaide

Reliability and punctuality

A proactive approach to problem-solving and willingness to take on new challenges

Previous experience in the air-conditioning and refrigeration industry is advantageous
