A well-respected City Council is seeking an experienced Asset Systems Officer to join their supportive team.
Your new organisation
We are seeking a technically strong Asset Systems Officer to join a forward-thinking local government environment in a newly created role, offering an excellent pathway to a permanent position.
This role is ideal for an experienced asset and civil professional who enjoys working at the intersection of engineering, systems, and data, and who can confidently manage and improve asset information across a broad infrastructure portfolio.
Your new role
This position will play a key role in strengthening asset management capability, with a strong focus on asset systems, data integrity, and system improvement initiatives. It is not a replacement role, but an opportunity to add additional depth and expertise to an established team.
The initial engagement will be a 3-6month contract, with a strong likelihood of extension and transition to a full-time ongoing role.
Key responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain asset data within enterprise asset management systems
- Work with large, complex datasets including:
- Data migration, clean-up and validation
- System configuration and restructuring
- Use of coding and system logic as required
Support asset data relating to long-life infrastructure, including;
- Roads, footpaths and buildings
- Drainage assets and related infrastructure
- Street furniture and public assets
- Collaborate with engineering, finance and GIS stakeholders to ensure data accuracy and system effectiveness
What you'll need to succeed
- A Civil Engineering degree (essential)
- 2-4 years' relevant experience in asset management or related roles
- Strong hands-on experience with asset management systems, ideally:
- CONFIRM (preferred), or
- TechnologyOne (TechOne) - Confidence working with asset data at scale, including restructuring and improvement initiatives.
- Strong attention to detail and a systems-focused mindset.
Desirable experience (nice to have)
- Civil drainage works experience
- Flood level reporting
- Exposure to CONFIRM specifically (TechOne experience is also highly regarded)
- Ability to work alongside GIS data (GIS is not a core requirement)
