We're excited to welcome a Peer Worker to our Lived Experience Team.

The Peer Worker provides support in crisis support spaces, inpatient and community settings.

The Sunshine Coast Crisis Support Spaces operate from Nambour General Hospital and Sunshine Coast University Hospital, from 1pm – 9pm, 7 days a week, 365 days per year. The service operates as an alternative to the Emergency Department, for people 16 years and over who don't need urgent medical care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Promote recovery by supporting consumers to identify strengths and actively participate in their recovery planning.
  • Assist with the planning, facilitation and evaluation of groups, and psychoeducation that promote recovery, connection and wellbeing.
  • Utilise well developed communication and consultation to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams to promote the functions of the peer role.

Remuneration value up to $101 073 p.a., comprising salary between $79,658 - $88,586 p.a. (f/t), or salary rates: $40.17 - $44.67 p.h. About Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service

Birtinya, QLD, Australia

Public health services in Queensland are provided through 16 Hospital and Health Services (HHS). These are statutory bodies each governed by a Hospital and Health Board. Some public health services are also provided by private providers.

The Department of Health is responsible for the overall management of the public health system in Queensland, including monitoring the performance of HHSs.

Service agreements are negotiated between the Department of Health and each HHS. The service agreement determines the services that the department will purchase from the HHS and how much it will pay for the provision of these services (ie. the level of funding to be provided).
