Finance Officer – Accounts Payable

We’re looking for someone to join our finance team to help manage the money coming in and going out of Council. You’ll be working with invoices, payments, and customer accounts, making sure everything runs smoothly and on time.

What You’ll Do

Set up and manage customer and supplier accounts.

Send invoices and statements and process payments.

Keep track of overdue accounts and work with our debt collection agency.

Help with payment runs and make sure bills are paid correctly.

Match invoices with statements and check everything adds up.

Work with other staff and help them use our finance systems.

Talk to customers, staff, and other organisations to sort out finance-related questions.

Create order requisitions for recurring purchases in the finance area as required.

What We’re Looking For

You’ll need:

A Certificate III in Finance, Business Admin or similar, or relevant experience.

Experience with accounting and customer service.

Good communication and teamwork skills.

Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook).

A current driver’s licence (Class C).

It’s a bonus if you have:

Experience with accounting software.

Experience working in local government finance.
