The Opportunity

This is an ideal role for an experienced Building Inspector looking to join a supportive and well-established consultancy. Working across Melbourne Metro and occasionally Greater Melbourne, you will conduct mandatory residential building inspections, liaise with builders and clients, and play a key role in ensuring compliance with Victorian building regulations.
The role offers autonomy, variety and the opportunity to work with a highly regarded team of building professionals. There is no volume builder work, mainly project and custom homes

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct mandatory residential building inspections across a variety of projects.
• Assess works for compliance with the Building Act, Building Regulations and NCC requirements.
• Prepare inspection reports and maintain accurate records.
• Liaise with builders, homeowners, developers and other stakeholders.
• Provide practical guidance regarding compliance matters.
• Manage inspection schedules and site visits efficiently.
• Ensure inspections are completed within required timeframes.
• Represent the business professionally at all times.

About You

Essential Requirements

• Current Victorian Building Inspector – Limited (IN-L) registration.
• Have exposure to high end home inspections
• Trade qualification in Carpentry or Building
• Experience working as a Carpenter/Builder, Site Supervisor, Construction Supervisor or Building Inspector.
• Strong understanding of residential construction practices and building compliance requirements.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Current Victorian Driver's Licence.
• Ability to work autonomously and manage your own schedule.
• Strong attention to detail and report-writing skills.

Desirable

• Experience conducting mandatory stage inspections.
• Knowledge of the Victorian Building Act, Regulations and National Construction Code.
• Experience working within a private building surveying consultancy.
