City of Mount Gambier has an exciting opportunity for a motivated and driven individual to join the Visitor Services team.
About the position:
Permanent part-time (18.75 hpw), Eight (8) week rotating roster.
Flexible working arrangements available.

You will be the first point of contact for visitors with the primary role of providing an outstanding level of visitor servicing and guided tour experiences, sharing and promoting the story of Mount Gambier in the land of the volcanoes, caves, sinkholes and crater lakes.
The role involves administrative assistance including supporting and assisting with service delivery, effective display of information and merchandise, maximising revenue opportunities, and assisting with delivery of Council’s strategic tourism outcomes within the visitor servicing area, with a focus on digital storytelling, social media and creative services.
An opportunity to work with a passionate and dedicated team to encourage visitors to stay longer, spend more and promote Mount Gambier as a desirable destination.
**Availability to work outside of standard working hours and weekend work is a requirement of this position
This position is classified at Level 2 (currently $39.57 per hour) of the City of Mount Gambier Administration Staff Agreement No.13 •025.
About you:
Demonstrated experience in social media, content creation and creative services.
Outstanding communication and customer service skills to engage, guide and inform visitors of different ages, backgrounds, interests and languages.
Well-developed presentation skills; and ability to deliver information in an engaging way to diverse audiences.
Proven ability to be enthusiastic, adaptable and effectively manage time.
Relevant experience in the local tourism industry and/or extensive knowledge of the local area’s geology, geography, history or environment.
