The Department of Health manages the Northern Territory public health system, operating as one system across 5 regions, providing the full spectrum of essential, quality health services, from health promotion to prevention, treatment, rehabilitation, and palliative care across the life course.
Operating in the Barkly Region, the Primary and Public Health Care (PPHC) Barkly Outreach Service provided specialist program outreach care to clients living in remote communities, and specialist support, advice and education to PPHC staff.
As the Public Health Dietitian your primary objective is to deliver high quality, culturally appropriate and effective public Health Dietetic services within NT Health.
Located in Tennant Creek, your key duties include prioritising and managing a caseload within a dynamic and evolving work environment, providing clinical/professional supervision to students and PPHC staff, and contribute to the achievement of the work unit goals and key performance indicators.
To be successful, you require a degree level qualification in human nutrition dietetics, which gives eligibility for Accredited Practicing Dietitian status with Dietitian Australia and post-graduation experience providing high quality clinical public health dietetics services.
Demonstrated awareness and understanding of Aboriginal culture, experience working effectively with client from diverse cultural and social backgrounds, and well-developed communication, interpersonal, negotiation and conflict management skills is essential.
