About the role

Redfleet Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Accounts Officer / Bookkeeper / Accountant to join our growing team in Darwin, NT. This is a full-time position based in our Darwin office (NT 0829). In this role, you will be responsible for managing financial records, bookkeeping functions, and providing essential accounting support to ensure the smooth operation of our business. You will play a crucial part in maintaining accurate financial data and supporting the strategic financial management of the organisation.

Key responsibilities

Maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records and general ledger accounts

Processing accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions

Reconciling bank statements and resolving discrepancies

Preparing and processing payroll information

Managing accounts and ensuring compliance with relevant financial regulations

Assisting with the preparation of financial statements and reports

Processing invoices, receipts and expense claims

Supporting audit procedures and providing financial documentation as required

Utilising accounting software and maintaining organised financial filing systems

Liaising with other departments to gather financial information

What we're looking for

Proven experience in bookkeeping, accounts administration or accounting roles

Strong proficiency in MYOB accounting software and Microsoft Office applications

Knowledge of bookkeeping principles, practices and financial record-keeping standards

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial reconciliation

Sound understanding of accounts payable and accounts receivable processes

Relevant qualifications such as a Certificate IV or higher in Accounting , Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Accounting, or equivalent professional experience

Strong organisational and time management skills

The ability to work independently and as part of a team

Professional communication skills and the ability to liaise effectively with colleagues and external stakeholders

Knowledge of payroll processing and tax compliance is advantageous

Experience with MYOB is preferred
