Your new company

An experienced AO7 Principal Investigator is required to join a specialist investigations team within a large Queensland Government agency. The successful candidate will undertake and case manage complex workplace conduct investigations involving public sector employees and volunteers. The assignment is initially for 6 months with a potential for extension.

Your new role

Reporting to a senior leader within the investigations function, you will be responsible for managing investigations from commencement through to completion, ensuring all matters are handled with procedural fairness and in accordance with legislative and governance requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting complex workplace misconduct investigations.
  • Gathering, analysing and assessing evidence.
  • Conducting interviews with relevant stakeholders.
  • Preparing detailed investigation reports, submissions and recommendations.
  • Providing advice on investigation processes, compliance and governance matters.
  • Managing multiple investigations simultaneously.
  • Building effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful, you will demonstrate:

  • Experience conducting end-to-end workplace or misconduct investigations.
  • Strong report writing and analytical skills.
  • Experience managing complex, sensitive or high-risk matters.
  • Well-developed stakeholder engagement and interviewing skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities.
  • Understanding of procedural fairness and investigation frameworks.

Highly Regarded:

  • Recent Queensland Government or public sector investigations experience.
  • Integrity, compliance, regulatory or misconduct investigation experience.
  • Previous law enforcement or regulatory investigation experience.
