We are a Byron Bay family seeking a Steiner-aligned nanny to care for our two children — a 2-year-old boy and a 5-year-old girl — in a calm, nurturing, home-based environment.

This role is ideal for someone who genuinely aligns with Steiner / Waldorf philosophy, values connection before correction, and enjoys being present with children through rhythm, play and everyday activities.

The Role

2–3 days per week with the intention of a long-term arrangement

Care takes place primarily in our home and local area

Daily activities include:

Outdoor play and park visits

Cooking and baking together

Water play

Colouring, drawing and creative activities

Imaginative and free play

Our son naps at lunchtime

Outings can be done using a pram or our family car (provided)

About Our Children

Our daughter (5) is confident, expressive and independent. She connects best with caregivers who build trust and relationship first, rather than leading with rules or directives.

Our son (2) is gentle and curious, and thrives in a calm, rhythmic environment.

We are intentionally seeking child-led, nurtured care — no rigid rule-setting, and no authoritarian approaches.

About You

Steiner/Waldorf training or strong alignment with Steiner philosophy

Warm, grounded, emotionally attuned and calm in your presence

Comfortable supporting children through connection-based guidance

Enjoys hands-on involvement: play, cooking, outdoor time, creativity

Experience with toddlers and preschool-aged children

Current Working With Children Check

First Aid/CPR (or willing to obtain)

Driver’s licence preferred (car provided for outings)

Pay & Conditions

$40–$50 per hour, depending on experience and training

Consistent set days each week, 12 - 16 hours to start with opportunity to increase
