About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our team, servicing and maintaining a diverse fleet of heavy vehicles and equipment across various locations across the Pilbara.
The role will primarily focus on the maintenance, servicing, diagnostics and repair of heavy vehicles, including trucks and buses, as well as trailing equipment.
We are preferably seeking Pilbara residential candidates, however, FIFO arrangements may be considered for the right candidate.
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified Heavy Diesel Mechanic who takes pride in quality workmanship, has strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills, and is committed to maintaining a safe and reliable fleet.
Key Responsibilities
• Conduct preventative maintenance, servicing and repairs on heavy vehicles, including trucks and buses
• Maintain and repair trailing equipment
• Diagnose mechanical faults using appropriate inspection, testing and diagnostic procedures
• Safely repair and replace mechanical components in accordance with manufacturer and safety standards
• Conduct scheduled servicing to minimise breakdowns and maintain fleet compliance
• Safely remove and reinstall engines, transmissions, steering systems and other components
• Use diagnostic equipment to identify and troubleshoot mechanical issues
• Conduct vehicle safety inspections and identify safety-critical defects
• Complete job cards accurately and within required timeframes
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, managers and team members regarding repairs and maintenance requirements
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised workshop environment
• Work across other company workshops within the state as required
Key Requirements
• Australian-recognised Heavy Diesel Mechanic trade qualification
• Minimum 2 years' post-apprenticeship experience in a similar role
• Previous experience in a road transport or bussing environment
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• High attention to detail and ability to follow procedures
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
• Strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship
• Reliable, punctual and strong work ethic
• HC/MC Driver's Licence – preferred
• Forklift Licence – preferred
• High Risk Work Licences such as EWP and Working at Heights – preferred
• National Police Clearance valid within the last 6 months
• Ability to meet allocated job timeframes
• Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and Drug & Alcohol screening

You should be comfortable working independently, diagnosing faults, meeting allocated timeframes and communicating effectively with supervisors and other team members.
Pilbara residential candidates are preferred, however FIFO arrangements will be considered for the right candidate.
