About the role

Original Mattress Factory is seeking a Warehouse Forklift Driver to join our dynamic team on a casual basis at our Kings Park, NSW facility. This role is essential to the smooth operation of our warehouse and distribution centre, ensuring efficient movement and storage of mattress products. As a Forklift Driver, you will be responsible for safely operating forklifts and other material handling equipment to load, unload, and move products throughout our warehouse, contributing directly to our ability to deliver quality products to our customers on time.

Key responsibilities

Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently to move, load, and unload mattress products and materials

Follow established warehouse procedures and safety protocols at all times to maintain a safe working environment

Perform routine maintenance checks on forklifts and report any mechanical issues or damage promptly

Stack and arrange products in the warehouse in an organised manner, maximising storage space and accessibility

Assist with receiving and dispatching goods, verifying product quantities and condition

Maintain accurate records of inventory movements and warehouse transactions

Collaborate with warehouse team members to ensure efficient day-to-day operations

Keep the warehouse clean and tidy, removing hazards and maintaining safe work areas

Comply with all health and safety regulations and company policies

What we're looking for

Current and valid forklift licence (high-risk work licence for operating a forklift) or willingness to obtain one

Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or logistics environment

Strong understanding of workplace health and safety practices and procedures

Physical fitness and ability to work in a warehouse environment, including standing for extended periods and lifting moderately heavy items

Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills

Ability to follow instructions and work independently as well as collaboratively within a team

Reliability and punctuality, with flexibility to work varied shifts as required for casual employment

Strong communication skills and a positive attitude towards safety

Experience with warehouse management systems or inventory tracking software is advantageous
