We’re looking for a senior market-facing Business Development Underwriter (SME Packages) to help drive growth through broker partnerships and quality underwriting decisions from their Cremorne office.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Underwrite and manage a portfolio across SME Packages / SME Commercial risks
• Drive new business growth by developing strong, value-adding broker relationships
• Be highly visible in-market—spending time in broker offices, working with broking teams on opportunities
• Review submissions/slips with brokers and make confident underwriting decisions
• Provide practical underwriting support and solutions to help brokers win and place business
• Maintain accurate underwriting records and contribute to ongoing process improvement

We are looking for someone with:

• Proven underwriting experience in Biz Packs / SME Commercial
• Strong broker-facing capability with confidence building senior relationships in-person
• A commercial, proactive approach—comfortable operating in a fast-moving environment
• Great communication skills and the ability to influence outcomes
• Energy, presence and a growth mindset (suited to someone looking to move away from a more corporate setting)
