About the role
Urban Republic is seeking a skilled Process/Maintenance Engineer to join our engineering team in Campbellfield, Victoria. This is a full-time position that plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient operation, optimisation, and maintenance of our manufacturing and processing facilities. As Process/Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining production equipment, improving operational efficiency, and supporting the continuous improvement initiatives that drive our business forward. This role is pivotal in minimising downtime, reducing costs, and maintaining safety standards across our operations.
Key responsibilities
Plan and execute preventative and predictive maintenance programmes on process equipment and machinery to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime
Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment failures, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions
Perform routine inspections, testing, and calibration of processing equipment to maintain operational standards
Collaborate with production teams to understand process requirements and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements
Develop and maintain maintenance documentation, including equipment logs, spare parts inventory, and maintenance schedules
Support the design and implementation of process improvements and equipment upgrades
Monitor and analyse process parameters to optimise production efficiency and product quality
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations across all maintenance and engineering activities
Provide technical support and guidance to production staff on equipment operation and maintenance procedures
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to reducing operational costs
What we're looking for
Tertiary qualification in mechanical engineering, process engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience
Proven experience as a Process Engineer, Maintenance Engineer, or similar role within a manufacturing or processing environment
Strong knowledge of process equipment, machinery, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and industrial automation
Competency in fault diagnosis, troubleshooting, and equipment repair
Experience with preventative maintenance planning and predictive maintenance techniques
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
Excellent communication and documentation skills
A current driver's licence and willingness to work on-site in Campbellfield
Preferred: Experience in manufacturing, or similar production environments; knowledge of AutoCAD or engineering design software; relevant certifications in equipment maintenance or process engineering
