Let us get to the point

We are looking for a commercially minded marketing and growth gun to run a portfolio of 10 to 15 hospitality and entertainment venues, end to end.

You will build the growth strategy, design the offers and brief the creative. You will audit the website and booking experience, launch the campaigns, and work with our developers to get tracking right. You will read the data and be measured on revenue uplift.

This is a doer's role, not a talker's. You will not manage a team of media buyers and creative specialists. You will be the one generating ideas, briefing creative, building campaigns and designing offers. It is intense. When the venue is full and the owner calls asking you to slow down because the kitchen cannot keep up, that is when the reward kicks in.

Why this is not another account manager role

Most performance marketing jobs hand you two levers: budget and creative. You spend three years getting very good at pulling two levers.

Venue marketing hands you the whole business.

A venue has fixed capacity, perishable inventory and uneven demand. Friday sells itself. Tuesday is the problem, and you cannot discount your way out of Tuesday. You have to build a reason to come: a format, an event, a partnership, an offer that changes the maths rather than cutting the price.

So the work is rarely "make the ROAS go up." It is closer to:

What should this venue sell, at what price, to whom

What makes a rainy Wednesday in July worth leaving the house for

Where is the funnel leaking between the ad click and the confirmed booking

Which segment repeats, and why is nobody marketing to them

What does review sentiment say about this venue and its competitors, and what angle does that give us

How do we get first timers through the door so they discover the place and come back

You get to the answer, then you go and build it. That is the job.

You do not need hospitality experience

You need to be excellent at marketing and business growth. Several of our strongest people came from ecommerce and lead generation. If you are good at what you do, what you sell matters less than you think.

This role suits you if:

You are a performance marketer from SME, ecommerce, local services or hospitality

You think past budgets and bid caps: personas, offers, angles, creative that makes people act

You know Meta Ads, Google Ads, and email campaigns and automation on whatever platform the venue runs

Everything you do ladders back to a business metric: AOV, LTV, CVR, RevPASH

Your skillset

You will not tick every box, and some of this we can train. But you should know what good looks like.

Commercial strategy. Diagnose the business, not the ad account. Build the growth plan, then get the owner on board.

Offer and concept. Design offers, events, activations and midweek promotions from scratch. Highest leverage thing we do.

Paid media. Build, launch and optimise Meta and Google yourself. There is no media buying team to hand it to.

Lifecycle and retention. Email and SMS campaigns, and automations inside whatever booking system the venue runs (SevenRooms, Now Book It, OpenTable, Bookeo and friends).

Measurement. Get tracking set up properly with our developers, own the dashboard, and know the difference between what the platform claims and what the venue actually banked.

Research. Competitive research, persona work, sentiment analysis, pricing.

Offline growth. Upsell tactics, review collection, email capture systems.

Creative direction. Turn ideas into briefs, and know which formats stop the scroll.

Client relationship. You run the meeting, set the agenda, manage expectations, and deliver bad news early.

What success looks like

First 30 days. You know your venues properly: P&L shape, capacity constraints, best and worst nights, competitors.

By 3 months. Bookings, covers, utilisation and revenue are measurably up. You have changed these owners' businesses.

What we measure. Client retention and sentiment, commercial improvement, and the quality and speed of what you ship.

What you get

Competitive salary, plus upside based on your output

A capped portfolio. Not 40 accounts. Enough room to think properly and stand behind your results

A team of genuine experts to learn from, hand picked from the best agencies in Australia

Autonomy. You will not need three approvals to test something

Direct access to our Head of Marketing, Head of Accounts and the agency owners

Clients that are actually interesting: restaurants, bars, escape rooms, mini golf, karaoke, sports venues

Real growth prospects. VenueScale is under a year old and already turning heads. Getting in now means getting in early

How to apply

Send your CV plus short answers to these three. Bullet points are fine. We would rather read something sharp and unpolished than smooth and empty.

Pick one campaign or account where you materially changed the commercial outcome. What was broken, what you did, what happened. Numbers please.

Pick any venue you know. In 300 words or fewer, what is the first thing you would change and why.

Rate yourself 1 to 10 against the skillset list above. Everyone has weak spots. We are interested in whether you know yours.
