Veterinary Nurse Receptionist

Are you a veterinary nurse who loves building connections with clients?

We’re looking for an experienced veterinary nurse to join our Client Relations team. Someone who wants to use their clinical knowledge, communication skills and passion for veterinary care in a new and rewarding way.

About Us

“I have a dream: that one day, every person working in the veterinary profession can say, ‘I love my job.’”
Dr Ali Ashrafi, Founder, Capital Veterinary Hospital

That belief is at the heart of Capital Vet.

Our four pillars are our colleagues, our patients, our clients and our hospital. We believe that when our people feel safe, supported and valued, they can provide exceptional care for patients and an exceptional experience for the people who love them.

We’re a close-knit team that values trust, communication, collaboration and continuous improvement. We invest in our people, encourage growth and are proud to be a Lincoln Institute Accredited Employer of Choice and winners of the Lincoln Institute Australia’s Best Led Practice Award.

About the Role

As a Veterinary Nurse in our Client Relations team, you’ll play an important role in building trusted relationships with clients and support them throughout their pet’s healthcare journey

This is a role where your clinical experience really matters. You’ll use what you already know to build trust, explain complex information and help clients feel confident about the care their pets receive.

You will:

Educate clients about preventative healthcare

Help clients navigate treatment options and feel confident in their next steps.

Work closely with our veterinary and nursing teams to ensure continuity of care

Support client enquiries, appointment coordination and the smooth running of the hospital

It’s a great opportunity for a nurse who loves the people side of veterinary medicine and wants to continue making a difference beyond the treatment room.

What We Offer

Permanent full-time position (part-time considered for the right candidate)

Staff discounts on veterinary care for your own pets

External HR support and an Employee Assistance Program

Regular opportunities for learning and career development

Enrolment in the Lincoln Institute’s Emerging Leaders Program

A management team committed to ongoing leadership development and a positive workplace culture

Who We’re Looking For

We’re looking for an experienced veterinary nurse who genuinely enjoys working with people.

You can read a room, handle difficult conversations with warmth, stay calm under pressure and make clients feel they’re in good hands. You want to be the reason a client feels supported and chooses to come back.

You’ll bring:

Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing (or equivalent)

Previous experience working in a veterinary hospital

A strong understanding of veterinary workflows, treatments and preventative healthcare

Excellent communication and client care skills

Confidence supporting pet owners through challenging situations

A positive, team-focused attitude and a genuine desire to contribute to a great workplace culture

Why Join Capital Vet?

This is more than a move away from the treatment room. It’s an opportunity to use your clinical knowledge in a different way by building relationships, educating clients and helping them navigate some of the most important decisions they’ll make for their pets.

At Capital Vet, you’ll be part of a team where your experience is valued, your ideas are heard and there’s room to keep growing. You’ll have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference not just to patients, but to the people who love them.

Don’t just take our word for it, hear from the people who know best;
