Office Administration Assistant - Catering & Events
Paella amor Pty Ltd
Posted 19 hours ago
We’re looking for an Office Administration Assistant to join our team and become an important part of the day-to-day running of the business.
This isn’t your typical office administration role. We’re a busy events business, so every day is different. You’ll be working closely with our directors and wider team, speaking with clients, helping organise events and making sure the many moving parts of the business stay organised.
The Role
As our Office Administration Assistant, you’ll help keep Boardwalk running smoothly.
Your responsibilities will include:
Responding to client enquiries by phone and email
Preparing quotes and assisting with proposals
Following up clients and helping manage bookings
Entering and maintaining event bookings and client information
Assisting with event administration and run sheets
Coordinating and booking waitstaff for events
Communicating with staff and helping keep event details organised
Ordering office, kitchen and catering supplies
Helping maintain an organised and welcoming office
General administration and data entry
Assisting with invoices, paperwork and other business administration
Assisting with social media and marketing administration
Helping coordinate meetings and office requirements
Getting involved in the wider events business where needed
General ad hoc tasks — because no two days at Boardwalk are quite the same
There will also be opportunities to work alongside our events team at catering events, including waitstaff shifts, if you’d like to get more involved in the hospitality and events side of the business.
About You
We’re looking for someone who is organised, warm, switched-on and genuinely enjoys working with people.
You’ll ideally be someone who:
Is warm, friendly and naturally helpful
Has excellent communication skills
Is highly organised and detail-oriented
Takes initiative and doesn’t always need to be asked what needs doing
Is reliable, punctual and someone the team can count on
Can stay calm and organised when things get busy
Is confident speaking with clients and representing the Boardwalk brand
Has a positive, team-focused attitude
Enjoys learning and isn’t afraid to have a go at something new
Takes pride in doing things properly
Can manage multiple priorities without losing track of the details
You don’t need to know everything. We’re much more interested in your attitude, organisation, communication and willingness to learn.
Hospitality & Events Experience Welcome
If you’ve worked in hospitality, hotels, restaurants, events or premium customer service and you’re looking to move into an office-based role, we’d particularly love to hear from you. Your understanding of service, urgency, people and what it takes to deliver a great event will be incredibly valuable at Boardwalk.
Equally, if you already have office administration experience and love working with people, we’d love to hear from you.
Why Join Boardwalk?
Boardwalk Catering is a busy, growing catering and events business based in Artarmon. We cater weddings, corporate events, private celebrations, super-yachts and everything in between across Sydney.
We’re a family-oriented, supportive team that genuinely cares about our clients, our food and each other.
We’re a small, close-knit team where you’ll actually know the people you’re working with. You’ll get exposure to all sides of a growing catering and events business, from client enquiries and administration through to event delivery.
We’re supportive, we work hard, we have a laugh and we genuinely care about doing a great job for our clients.
As Boardwalk continues to grow, there is genuine opportunity for career progression and to take on greater responsibility across administration, events, client management and operations.
