A leading financial institute based in Sydney CBD is seeking an experience Devops engineer with expert EKS experience to work in a strategic, enterprise-scale cloud platform.
You'll play a key role in the operation and continuous improvement of the bank's Kubernetes-based gateway platform. You will help modernise the platform as the organisation transitions away from legacy reverse proxy technologies to its strategic cloud-native gateway architecture.Leveraging modern web and API technologies, you will help drive automation, operational excellence, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities:

• Ongoing enhancement of the cloud and containerised environments, supporting the delivery and operation of applications across Kubernetes and cloud platforms
• Manage and optimise Kubernetes-based gateway technologies, ensuring high availability and reliability.
• Troubleshoot complex platform, Kubernetes and application deployment issues
• Drive automation and promote self-service capabilities for development teams.
• Contribute to platform reliability, observability and operational excellence
• Assist with the migration from legacy reverse proxy infrastructure to the bank's strategic gateway platform.

Key Skills/ Experience:

• Expert Devops experience with EKS running gateways
• Strong understanding of Web and API technologies (including REST, HTTP & cert management, API gateway concepts)
• Practical experience in AWS (EC2, EKS, S3) and GCP (Compute, GKE) Cloud Service
• Deep understanding of Kubernetes administration and operations.
• Experience supporting API or service gateway platforms.
• Experience with Gloo Gateway or similar API gateway technologies
• Strong knowledge of GitHub and GitHub Actions.
• Experience building, maintaining and improving CI/CD pipelines.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills across cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes and containerised applications.
