About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanical Engineer/Drafter, to perform complex electrical design assignments on transportable Switch rooms, entailing the review and incorporation of technical specifications and relevant standards.

Duties

Design and draft electrical switch rooms, skids, and related products using Revit in accordance with project specifications and standards.

Develop and improve modular switch room designs while supporting continuous improvement of engineering and construction methods.

Collaborate with engineering teams, clients, suppliers, and production personnel to ensure designs meet technical and operational requirements.

Automate repetitive design tasks through customized Revit tools, programs, and spreadsheets to improve efficiency.

Prepare and review technical documentation including feasibility studies, layouts, specifications, bill of quantities, material lists, and cost estimates.

Conduct design reviews, factory inspections, HVAC calculations, and technical support activities to ensure compliance, quality, and successful project delivery.

Skills & Experience

Degree qualification in Mechanical Engineering.

Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a mechanical engineer/drafter in a similar manufacturing business/ electrical engineering or construction field.

Must have strong Revit and 3D CAD skillset.

Must have experience in HVAC calculations for split systems.

Knowledge and understanding of relevant Australian standards.
