About the Client

Our client is an Australian business, that manufactures and supplies 100% Australian-made steel reinforcing bar, mesh and accessories.

About the Role:

We are seeking an organised and proactive Dispatch & Customer Service Officer, to plan and execute the delivery of products to customers typically through our external freight contractors. The role requires constant communication with customers, drivers and internal stakeholders including Operations, Customer facing staff to deliver to our customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

Coordinate daily dispatch activities, ensuring reinforcing steel, mesh and fabricated products are delivered to customer sites accurately and on schedule

Liaise with customers, transport operators, production teams and internal stakeholders to manage delivery requirements, changes and priorities

Process customer orders, prepare delivery documentation and update dispatch systems with accurate job and transport information

Schedule and allocate trucks, drivers and deliveries to optimise fleet utilisation and ensure efficient movement of materials

Monitor delivery progress, provide updates to customers and proactively resolve any issues relating to delays, site access or order requirements

Provide professional customer service by responding to enquiries, resolving concerns and maintaining strong relationships with clients and contractors

Skills & Experience Provided

Driver’s Licence + reliable transport

Previous experience in a dispatch, logistics, transport coordination or customer service role (ideally within manufacturing, construction or steel industries)

Strong organisational skills with the ability to coordinate multiple deliveries, priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Advanced computer skills, including MS Office (Excel) and ERP systems (Symix, Oracle or SAP desirable)

Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise confidently with customers, drivers, production teams and internal stakeholders

Strong attention to detail when processing orders, preparing documentation and updating systems.

Ability to pass a Pre Employment Medical + Drug & Alcohol Screen
