A major bank is seeking an IMS Systems Programmer to join their team on a 12 month contract highly likely to extend. Role can be based in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane or Adelaide.

Responsibilities:

• Install, customize, and maintain IMS components (IMS DB, IMS TM, IMS Connect, IMS Tools, etc.)
• Perform IMS system upgrades, RSU/PUT maintenance, and version migrations
• Configure IMS subsystems, exit routines, security settings, logging, and recovery processes
• Troubleshoot complex system-level incidents, abends, performance issues, and operational problems
• Manage SMP/E environments, APPLY/ACCEPT processes, and product maintenance
• Support high-availability, disaster recovery, and parallel sysplex configurations

Key Skills / Experience:

• 5+ years of experience as an IMS System Programmer in large enterprise or financial environments
• Deep knowledge of IMS architecture, system configuration, IMS utilities, exits, and logs
• Strong experience with z/OS, SMP/E, JES2, RACF, VTAM, TCP/IP, and related subsystems
• Hands-on experience with IMS Connect, OTMA, and IMS TM
• Strong understanding of sysplex technologies, DR strategies, and performance tuning
• Excellent debugging, diagnostics, and problem-resolution skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional technical teams
