The Role
As Coordinator Theatre & Cinema you will play a key role in the planning, coordinating and facilitating of a range of innovative performing arts, cultural and creative capacity at the Matt Dann and Cinema. You can make a real difference by building programs, that serve the cultural development of Port Hedland's diverse community.
This is a great opportunity for a passionate arts professional to lead the delivery of the Town of Port Hedland's performing arts and screen-based programs. Working from the Matt Dann Theatre and across Town facilities, you will develop, curate and deliver a diverse portfolio of performances, screenings and cultural initiatives aligned with the Town's Arts and Culture Strategy. You will identify new opportunities to strengthen arts and cultural engagement, creating programs that enrich the community and support the growth of the local creative sector.
To be successful in this role, you will have demonstrated experience working effectively in the arts and live performance fields while coordinating a high performing team. You will have the ability to effectively manage projects and pride yourself on your well-developed stakeholder engagmenet and communication skills. Your strong leadership, business systems and financial management background make you an asset to the team.
Please be aware that this position does require the successful candidate to be available to work some evenings and weekends.
You will be joining the team at an exciting time as the Town embarks on a culture of change with embracing of a wide range of new technologies, a large capitals works program, and a number of other projects that make the Town a desirable place to live and work.

Work Related Requirements
The preferred applicant will be required to undergo a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol assessment to be considered for the role, as well as possess:
- National Police Clearance
- Current 'C' class drivers license
- Rights to work in Australia
- Current First Aid Certificate (or willing to obtain)
- Current Working with Children Check (or willing to obtain)
