About the role

Moloney's Carpentry and Joinery PTY LTD is seeking a talented 3rd/4th Carpenter Apprentice to join our growing team in Melbourne, VIC. This is a full-time apprenticeship position that offers you the opportunity to develop practical carpentry and joinery skills under the guidance of experienced professionals. You will work on-site with our team, learning the craft of carpentry whilst contributing to high-quality projects. This role is essential to developing the next generation of skilled tradespeople in our organization and represents a genuine pathway towards becoming a qualified carpenter/joiner.

What you'll be doing

During your apprenticeship, you will undertake a range of carpentry and joinery tasks, including:

Assisting experienced carpenters with residential and commercial carpentry projects

Learning to measure, cut, and fit timber and other materials to specification

Helping construct and assemble timber frames, doors, windows, and cabinetry

Using hand tools and power tools safely and correctly under supervision

Learning to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications

Preparing and finishing timber work to a high standard

Maintaining a clean and safe work environment on site

Attending and completing relevant carpentry trade courses and theory components as part of your apprenticeship requirements

Following workplace health and safety regulations and procedures

What we're looking for

To succeed in this apprenticeship, you should have:

Current enrolment or acceptance into a recognized carpentry apprenticeship programme

A strong work ethic and commitment to learning the carpentry trade

Good mathematical skills and the ability to work with measurements and technical drawings

Physical fitness and the ability to work on your feet and perform manual tasks throughout the day

Attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship

Ability to follow instructions and work safely with hand and power tools

Good communication and teamwork skills

Reliability and punctuality

Willingness to learn and develop new skills

Preferred: Basic woodworking or construction experience, or a genuine interest in the carpentry trade
