Key duties and responsibilities

The Services, delivered in collaboration with and under supervision include, but are not limited to, the following:

Developing and maintaining applications and systems that provide data focused capabilities

Analysis of requirements and existing applications

Creating new, and updating existing design artefacts with proposed changes

Creating new and updating existing User Interfaces and Interfaces with a preference for experience in: Python and/or C#

Undertaking general DevSecOps tasks, including experience in establishing and uplifting DevSecOps toolchains

Implementation of proposed changes including liaising with testing, release management and operational teams.

Provide knowledge/skills transfer to other team members and provide mentoring, coaching and training.

Remain accountable for accurate completion of work within timeframes and quality requirements, share own expertise with others and guide and mentor less experienced buyer employees.

Technical Skills

Mandatory:

Software development experience with Python or C#

Experience developing applications and APIs

Experience working in Linux environments

Experience using collaboration tools such as Git, GitHub/GitLab/Azure DevOps, issue tracking systems, and wikis

Desirable:

Experience with Python web frameworks (e.g. Django, Flask, FastAPI)

Experience developing modern web application frontends

Proficiency with relational databases (e.g. PostgreSQL, MSSQL, MySQL)

Strong understanding of authentication, authorisation, and security best practices

Knowledge of software architecture patterns and their appropriate use

Experience with containerisations technologies (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes)

Familiarity with DevSecOps practices and CI/CD pipelines

Experience with ETL processes

Experience with object storage (e.g. S3-compatible APIs)

Familiarity with message queues and event streaming (e.g. Kafka, RabbitMQ, Pulsar)

Experience with workflow orchestration tools (e.g. Airflow, Prefect, NiFi)

Experience with test automation
