My client, an established commercial builder with a strong pipeline of landmark commercial, institutional and defence projects is seeking an experienced Services Commissioning Manager to oversee the planning, coordination and delivery of building services commissioning from design through to PC.
Working across technically challenging, high-value projects, you'll be responsible for ensuring all mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, fire, communications and security systems are fully integrated, tested and commissioned.
This is a key role, working closely with project teams, subcontractors, consultants and clients to deliver defect-free, fully operational buildings.
As the Services Commissioning Manager, you will:
- Develop and manage commissioning strategies, programmes and project-specific commissioning plans.
- Coordinate commissioning activities across all building services disciplines.
- Lead commissioning meetings with consultants, subcontractors, client representatives and end users.
- Review design documentation to ensure systems are commissionable and compliant.
- Manage testing, balancing, integrated systems testing (IST), witness testing and statutory approvals.
- Drive defect management, commissioning completion and smooth project handover.
- Ensure all O&M manuals, training, asset data and handover documentation are completed to a high standard.
- Support project teams throughout delivery, identifying commissioning risks early and implementing practical solutions.
- Build strong relationships with defence stakeholders, consultants and subcontractors.
Ideal experience:
- Proven experience commissioning complex commercial building services.
- Background working for a commercial builder, Tier 1/2 MEP contractor or building services consultancy.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, fire and specialist systems.
- Experience delivering hospitals, laboratories, defence, data centres, education or other technically complex facilities.
- Sound understanding of commissioning processes, integrated testing and project handover.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to lead multiple workstreams while maintaining programme and quality outcomes.
- Australian construction industry experience is essential.
- Ability to obtain or currently hold an Australian Defence Security Clearance is highly regarded.
