We're looking for an experienced Project Manager (Electrical) to oversee projects at various mine sites.
Role Overview
This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment. Reporting to the Group Project Manager within the Capital Projects team, you will manage exciting brownfields projects from scoping through to handover. Projects are all supporting infrastructure for our clients from ventilation to power upgrades, pumping and everything in between.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct project feasibility studies and report findings to relevant stakeholders
Collaborate with the project team to actively review project documents for successful delivery of projects, identifying gaps and opportunities for improvement;
Engage and manage stakeholders, including production, maintenance, contractors and other functional groups during the project lifecycle;
Contribute to a safety-orientated culture, including construction safety risk management, field leadership and managing construction risk in line with project framework;
Act as primary point of contact during execution with all operations and interfaces, including the reporting and management of safety issues, incidents, and hazards;
You may be required to effectively supervise construction works as a statutory supervisor under Schedule 26 of the WHS (Mines) Regulations (WA) 2022;
Demonstrate a minimum of 3-5 years mining and resource industry project management experience with proven ability to manage contractors and oversee project lifecycle;
Apply extensive mining and resource sector construction experience to ensure compliance with industry-specific requirements and standards;
Manage the project budget, raise purchase requisitions and procurement of equipment; including reporting to relevant stakeholders.
Fulfil the role of Site Responsible Person and manage the contractors' mobilisation and performance through the Contractor Management Framework;
Monitoring and reporting actual work completion against scheduled plan;
Effectively execute commissioning plans and construction verification to ensure a safe and quality install;
Forecast project scope changes and report them to relevant project leads;
Facilitate/Lead risk assessment workshops - Workplace Risk Assessment and Controls (WRAC);
Effectively establish laydown yards for arrival and receipting of project equipment;
Create test sheets and registers to include within the commissioning teams commissioning plans.
We may also assign you other duties, where reasonable for your position, training and experience.
About You
Personable and approachable, good stakeholder relationships are key to a successful project.
Proven experience in project management and contractor supervision.
Comprehensive understanding of the Work Health and Safety (Mines) regulations.
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
Process-minded with a focus on efficiency and simplicity.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and project management tools.
A collaborative mindset and can-do attitude.
Advanced trade or engineering background.
Requirements
Current WA driver's licence.
Pre-employment Medical and Drug and Alcohol screening.
National Police Clearance.
Schedule 26, Statutory Supervisor (optional).
Hold a recognised electrical trade certificate, engineering or project management qualification.
BSB40520 Certificate IV in Leadership and Management is desirable.
