Business Manager
About the role
This is an opportunity to take a senior leadership role in a values-driven organisation, strengthening financial performance, compliance, and business operations while supporting quality services and sustainable growth. The Business Manager will report to Chief Operations Officer and will be responsible for overseeing the organisation's financial performance and supporting effective business operations. Drawing on a strong accounting background, the role ensures sound financial management, statutory compliance, effective business planning, accurate reporting, and operational efficiency.
Key responsibilities
Manage the organisation's accounting and finance functions
Prepare annual budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections
Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
Monitor financial performance and provide analysis and recommendations
Ensure effective management of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions
Participate in audits and liaise with external auditors, accountants, and financial institutions
Ensure compliance with accounting standards, taxation requirements, and financial regulations
Support in managing day-to-day business operations to ensure efficiency and effectiveness
Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost efficiencies
Lead and mentor finance team members
About you
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related discipline
CPA, CA, or equivalent professional accounting qualification
Minimum 5 years' experience in a senior finance, accounting, or business management role
Strong financial analysis, budgeting, and reporting skills
Demonstrated experience managing business operations and organisational performance
Excellent knowledge of accounting principles, taxation, and compliance requirements
Highly developed leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
Advanced proficiency in financial management systems and Microsoft Office applications
Experience reporting to Boards or Executive Leadership Teams
Experience within the not-for-profit, corporate, government, or industry-specific sector relevant to the organisation
