Legal Receptionist – Family Law
The opportunity
Eliza Legal is seeking a warm, professional and highly organised Legal Receptionist to join our growing family law practice.
As the first point of contact for our clients, you will play an important role in ensuring every person who contacts our firm feels heard, supported and welcomed. This is a full-time, office-based position with genuine opportunities for career progression for the right candidate.
The role will be based at either our Mount Eliza or Mordialloc office, with flexibility to work from either location depending on the operational needs of the business.

The role
Your responsibilities will include:
Welcoming clients and visitors to the office
Answering and directing telephone calls with warmth and professionalism
Responding to general email and website enquiries
Managing appointments, diaries and meeting rooms
Completing new-client intake and conflict-checking processes
Opening, maintaining and closing electronic and physical files
Preparing correspondence and assisting with document formatting
Scanning, filing, photocopying and managing incoming and outgoing mail
Preparing eBriefs
Collating and indexing disclosure documentation
Liaising with barrister's clerks
Processing payments and providing general administrative support
Maintaining a professional, organised and welcoming reception area
Supporting our lawyers, paralegals and practice-management team as required
Handling confidential and sensitive information with care and discretion
About you
You will be well suited to this role if you:
Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
Present professionally and have a warm, calm telephone manner
Are empathetic and comfortable assisting people experiencing difficult circumstances
Are reliable, punctual and highly organised
Have strong attention to detail
Can manage competing priorities in a busy professional environment
Are confident using Microsoft Office and able to learn new systems including Smokeball and eBrief
Understand the importance of confidentiality
Enjoy working collaboratively as part of a close-knit team
Are willing and able to work from both Mount Eliza and Mordialloc when required
Previous experience in legal reception, administration or professional services will be highly regarded.
University students are welcome to apply
University students with a genuine interest in family law are encouraged to apply. However, applicants must be available to work the position’s full-time hours of 9.00 am to 5.00 pm, Monday to Friday.
This is not a part-time or casual role, and the working hours cannot be structured around a university timetable.

Important requirements
This is a full-time, office-based position, working:
Monday to Friday, 9.00 am to 5.00 pm.
The successful applicant must be able to work from either the Mount Eliza or Mordialloc office, as directed and depending on business needs.
