The Role

Are you a program facilitator, experienced working within the family violence space and keen to make a difference? If so, we have an opportunity for you to join our FDVRT team!

The Family Domestic Violence Response Team (FDVRT) Men’s Case Worker will work in line with the Western Australia Police Force, Department of Communities, Department of Justice and services providing Family and Domestic Violence (FDV) support to engage with men who choose to use violence. The program facilitator will also exchange risk related information where required to manage the safety of women and children.

This role will:

Establish contact and provide individual interventions including case management to men who choose to use violence

Engage in an assessment process to refer according to men’s behaviour change programs or other suitable interventions

Engage in individual behaviour change sessions for men who choose to use violence

Conduct tailored risk assessments and safety plans

Undertake referrals to relevant support services

Engage in relevant stakeholder relationships

This is a Permanent Full-time position working 76 hours per fortnight. This role will be primarily located in Fremantle and also co-located with the FDVRT team in Cockburn Police Station.

About You

Qualification and/or experience in a relevant field, with family and domestic violence or men's behaviour change highly regarded.

Ability to develop rapport and provide a high level of risk assessment, safety planning, and individual, case management and informal counselling to clients.

Demonstrated high level time management and task management skills, and ability to work under limited direction.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation and public speaking skills.

An understanding of FDV and duty of care

Unrestricted driver's licence, Police clearance, Working With Children Check.

Willingness to obtain Department of Justice integrity clearance
