About the role

Reporting to the General Manager, you will provide practical WHS across support the plant, while promoting a positive safety culture through engagement, education and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct workplace observations, inspections, WHS monitoring and auditing of project, contract and volunteer work activities as required
• Conduct WHS risk assessments and facilitate operational WHS planning with work teams, including the preparation of SWMS, JHA'S
• Assist with the reporting, investigation, and review of workplace incidents, injuries, hazards, and near misses, including the identification of root causes and monitoring of corrective actions
• Ensure that all in-house systems and procedures are updated, revised, and modified to meet the needs of external certification bodies
• Ensure that all necessary systems and procedures are in place to satisfy all reports and make presentations
• Ensure that the function operates in accordance with any health, safety and environmental policies and procedures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of staff and visitors customer requirements and audits
• Introduce new systems and procedures where appropriate
• Undertake regular internal and process audits of the QMS
• Ensure corrective actions are undertaken to address non-conformities found
• Manage the audit non-conformity data base

About you

• Previous experience in the practical application of Work Health and Safety principles, standards and processes in a variety of work settings
• Experience conducting hazard inspections, audits, risk assessments, accident/incident investigations, tool box meetings, and training and advising internal stakeholders
• Completion of a pre-employment medical including alcohol and other substances testing is required
