About the Sexual Assault & Family Violence Centre

We are a client-centred organisation, supporting the community throughout Barwon, Wimmera, and the South West regions, offering a range of specialist support services to people impacted by sexual and family violence, encompassing 24 hour crisis care, specialist response services, early intervention programs, Victims Assistance Program, Community Legal Services, trauma recovery programs, professional training and primary prevention initiatives.

About The Role

This position is primarily responsible for providing leadership, supervision, and operational support to a team of specialist family violence case managers. The role ensures the delivery of consistent, high-quality services to clients and fosters a positive team culture grounded in professionalism and best-practice standards.

With degree qualifications in social work, psychology, family therapy or similar discipline and leadership experience in a similar role, you will be a values driven person, motivated to make a difference and hold the client at the centre of everything you do. Key Selection Criteria

Essential Qualifications and Experience

Your application must address the following:

• Degree or above qualification in social work, psychology, family therapy or similar discipline.
• Minimum four (4) years relevant experience post qualification.

Essential Skills and Knowledge

• Leadership and Team Development: Demonstrated ability to lead, support, and develop a team of case managers through individual, peer, and group supervision, mentoring, debriefing, and self-care practices. Ability to inspire vision, direction, and professional conduct.
• Family Violence Case Management Expertise: Comprehensive understanding of the Multi-Agency Risk Assessment and Management Framework (MARAM) and family violence case management practice informed by gendered analysis of violence against adults, children and young people, trauma-informed approaches, human rights principles, and feminist theory.
• Complex Decision-Making: Extensive experience providing advice and direction on complex matters, including crisis intervention, comprehensive risk assessments, safety planning, and timely, considered decision-making in response to client needs.
• Staff Management: Demonstrated experience in recruitment, workforce retention, performance management, and professional development strategies.
• Communication and Stakeholder Engagement: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and foster collaborative relationships internally and with external stakeholders.
• Resilience and Judgement: Demonstrated resilience and aptitude for managing complex and high-priority matters, exercising sound judgement, and prioritising competing demands effectively.
• Flexibility and Change Leadership: A flexible approach to leadership in a dynamic environment, embracing growth and creating a positive vision, culture, and direction for the team.

Hours of work

• The position is 1.0 FTE full time
• Location of the position is at Geelong
• Hours will usually be worked during business hours of 9.00am to 5.06 pm between Monday
to Friday based on the needs of the service.
• Flexibility in working hours will be required from time to time as the need arises.

Salary and Conditions

Annual salary range is Specialist Family Violence Practitioner classification, Level 7 Pay Point 1-3 plus superannuation (pro rata for part time). Salary will be commensurate with experience and skills.

Industrial Instrument: The Sexual Assault & Family Violence Centre Enterprise Agreement 2023.

Salary Packaging: Provided via Maxxia. PBI status with other expenses available to package above this cap. The Sexual Assault & Family Violence Centre is a Public Benevolent Institution.

Superannuation: The employer will also make superannuation payments on your behalf in accordance with the Superannuation Guarantee (Administration) Act 1992.

Probationary Period – 6 months with a review conducted during this time.
