8&6 FIFO from Perth - $75–$90ph + Super - Pathway to Permanent
TS Staffing is partnering with a major resources operator to recruit an experienced WHS Senior Training Advisor for its processing operation in the Goldfields.
Following the commissioning of a major expansion earlier this year, the operation has welcomed a significant number of new personnel. This newly created role represents a further investment in developing its people, strengthening operational safety and ensuring training and competency continue to evolve alongside the operation.
This isn't a role for a career classroom trainer.
The successful person will have come from a mineral processing background before moving into training. Someone who understands the realities of working in an operating plant and can relate to the operators, maintainers and supervisors they will be training.
The Opportunity
The priorities for the role are clear and will evolve as the position matures:
Firstly, bring structure to the site's training and competency management system by organising, validating and migrating historical training records into STEMS, ensuring competency and compliance records are accurate, current and audit ready.
From there, work alongside the Permit to Work Coordinator to support the continued rollout of Permit to Work and Isolation training, assisting with competency assessments and helping embed these critical risk controls across the operation.
The next focus will be reviewing, developing and delivering practical Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) training. This includes working alongside supervisors and operational crews in the field to develop JHAs where required and ensure they remain practical and operationally fit for purpose.
As the role continues to evolve, the successful person will deliver incident investigation training and assist with the development and rollout of additional WHS training packages.
The role will also support the rollout of the STEMS Learning Management System as the operation continues to improve how training and competency are managed.
About You
The right person will have built their career within mineral processing before transitioning into training.
That operational background is important. The role requires someone who understands permits, isolations, JHAs and operational risk through practical experience rather than theory alone.
The successful candidate will be relatable and credible with the workforce. They will be equally comfortable working with systems and training records as they are putting on PPE and working alongside supervisors and crews in the field.
To be considered, candidates will ideally bring:
Minimum of three years' operational experience within a mineral processing environment, with wet processing experience essential.
Minimum two years' experience within workplace or operational training.
Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
Demonstrated experience developing and delivering practical operational training.
Experience managing training records, competencies and compliance.
Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with operators, maintainers, supervisors and site leadership.
The ability to work autonomously and take ownership of agreed programs and priorities.
Strong organisation and attention to detail.
Current C Class Driver's Licence.
Experience within nickel, lithium or rare earths processing will be particularly well regarded, however candidates with strong gold processing experience are also encouraged to apply.
Experience with STEMS or similar systems, together with previous delivery of Permit to Work, Isolation, JHA, VOC or incident investigation training, will also be highly regarded.
What's on Offer
$75–$90 per hour + super, depending on experience.
8 days on, 6 days off FIFO from Perth to site
Initial contract with a view to transitioning into a permanent position down the line.
A newly created role with the opportunity to make a genuine contribution to how training, competency and operational safety are managed across the operation.
If you've built your career in mineral processing before moving into training and understand how to engage a workforce through practical experience rather than theory, we'd like to hear from you.
