About the role

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Procurement Executive to join MECADO TRADING PTE LTD in a full-time capacity. Based in the Downtown Core Central Region, this role is strategically important to our operations, as you will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and managing supplier relationships to ensure the smooth flow of materials and services throughout our organisation. You will be instrumental in optimising our procurement processes, managing costs effectively, and maintaining compliance with our sourcing standards whilst supporting our manufacturing, transport and logistics operations.

Key responsibilities

Identify and evaluate potential suppliers and vendors, ensuring they meet our quality, cost, and reliability standards

Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to achieve optimal pricing and service levels

Process purchase orders and manage the procurement workflow from requisition through to delivery and invoicing

Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with relevant departments to forecast procurement needs and manage stock levels effectively

Maintain accurate and up-to-date procurement records and documentation in compliance with company policies and legal requirements

Build and nurture strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure consistent quality and timely delivery

Analyse procurement spend and identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality

Liaise with internal stakeholders including operations, finance, and logistics teams to ensure procurement aligns with business objectives

Support the resolution of supplier issues, including quality complaints and delivery discrepancies

Stay abreast of market trends and industry developments relevant to our procurement activities

What we're looking for

Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Procurement or a related field

Minimum of 2-3 years of proven experience in procurement, purchasing, or supplier management within the manufacturing, transport or logistics sector

Strong negotiation skills with the ability to achieve favourable terms whilst maintaining positive supplier relationships

Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with strong attention to detail

Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)

Solid understanding of inventory management principles and procurement best practices

Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritise effectively

Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively across departments and with external suppliers

Familiarity with import/export procedures and customs regulations is advantageous

Professional certifications such as APICS CSCP or equivalent procurement qualifications would be highly valued
