About the role
Cape Byron Power is seeking an experienced Reliability Engineer to join our team in Condong, NSW. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in supporting the Mechanical and E&IC Engineers in the day-to-day running of the Cape Byron Power assets in accordance with good utility practice, leading safety, ensuring CBM’s continued compliance with approved procedures. The Reliability Engineer is further responsible for all asset management development work and the full improvement program to ensure optimal plant performance in the short, medium and long-term of the assets lifecycles.
The Reliability Engineer must lead by example in carrying out their duties with regard to safety leadership, non-discriminatory culture, fairness and integrity.
What you'll be doing
Responsible to develop and improve maintenance activity programs and provide technical support to maintenance and operations functions in loss elimination and continuous improvement activities.
Identification and implementation of reliability and plant improvement projects
Analysis of equipment failures to identify causes using RCA techniques
Carry out condition and performance monitoring of critical equipment
Responsible for the review and modify maintenance processes, procedures, services, inspection frequencies or applicability of equipment.
Assist in the design, planning, estimation, installation and commissioning of new or recommended plant changes to improve reliability.
Assisting with the preparation of capital works program
Implementation and management of the Asset & Inventory Management systems
Provide technical support to the Operations and Maintenance teams to maximise plant throughput
Manage the review of spares stock holdings and reliable stock costs
Maintain a pro-active role in site problem solving situations
Investigate operational & maintenance problems and recommend or initiate rectification actions required, monitor progress and follow through.
Ensure that Work Management is performed effectively and maintain ongoing PMO to improve maintenance strategy
Stay current with advancements in mechanical engineering technology and industry best practices
What we're looking for
Degree qualified Mechanical Engineer
Commitment to Safety and encouraging safe working by others
Mechanical works planning and supervision
Project controls and administration experience
Reliability and loss elimination experience
Root Cause Analysis experience
Experience of at least 10 years within the power generation industry
Proven delivery focus
Creation of and compliance with safe access rules and procedures
Strong organisational, communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, with the capacity to work effectively in team environments
Knowledge of renewable energy technologies and systems is highly desirable
Maintenance and capex investment planning and delivery experience
