Help veterans and their families find safe, stable housing and build a stronger future.

At RSL Queensland, you'll work alongside veterans and their families who are experiencing housing challenges, including those at risk of or experiencing homelessness.

You'll help people navigate the housing system, overcome barriers and access the right support to secure and maintain a safe and stable home. Using a trauma-informed and strengths-based approach, you'll work with each client to understand their circumstances, identify their goals and develop practical pathways towards greater housing security and independence.
You'll manage a caseload of up to 20 clients, working closely with veterans, families, housing providers and community organisations to achieve sustainable outcomes.

What you'll do

  • Deliver person-centred housing and homelessness support
  • Develop individualised housing and case management plans
  • Assist with social, community and private rental applications
  • Support clients to maintain tenancies and achieve housing stability
  • Advocate for clients and connect them with housing and specialist support services
  • Maintain accurate case records and documentation

About you
You're a compassionate and proactive practitioner who enjoys helping people navigate complex challenges and achieve practical outcomes.
You'll bring:

  • A degree in Social Work, Human Services or Behavioural Sciences, or a Certificate IV or higher in Community Services with relevant experience
  • Experience working in housing and homelessness services, community services or case management
  • Knowledge of, or the ability to quickly develop knowledge of, Queensland tenancy legislation and homelessness frameworks
  • Strong relationship-building, communication and advocacy skills
  • The ability to work effectively with people experiencing complex circumstances
  • Experience working collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams and community services
  • A current Queensland C class driver's licence and flexibility to travel as required

An understanding of the veteran and ADF communities and their unique needs will be highly regarded.

Why join us?

  • Meaningful work supporting veterans and their families
  • Help people achieve safe, stable and sustainable housing
  • Join a supportive team committed to making a difference
  • Ongoing learning and professional development
  • Work with a purpose-driven organisation supporting the veteran community

At RSL Queensland, our mission is to provide care, commemoration and camaraderie to veterans and their families. If you're passionate about helping people overcome housing challenges and build greater stability and independence, we'd love to hear from you.
