Licensing NT is responsible for the administration and enforcement of legislation regulating the sale, service, promotion and supply of liquor, ensuring compliance to protect community wellbeing while supporting a viable hospitality and tourism industry across the Northern Territory.
As a Senior Compliance Officer, you play a key role in delivering regulatory and compliance outcomes across legislation administered by Licensing NT, with a strong focus on the Liquor portfolio. Your core responsibilities involve undertaking investigations, compliance operations, and field-based activities, while also supporting education and awareness initiatives across industry and the community. This involves applying legislation in practical settings, providing clear actionable advice, and undertaking audits, inspections and investigations. In this role you will engage directly with industry, stakeholders, and the community to support compliance outcomes and Licensing NT objectives.
To be successful, you require demonstrated experience in regulatory, compliance, investigations, or enforcement environments, with the ability to analyse information, assess risks, resolve problems, and conduct investigations. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to confidently engage with a wide range of stakeholders and a willingness to undertake fieldwork and travel to remote communities is essential. A current driver’s licence or ability to obtain is also required.
