About the role

We are seeking compassionate, reliable, and experienced Family Youth Support Workers to join our team in Western Sydney.

In this hands-on, casual role, you will provide essential in-home support and community access to children, young people, and their families. You will work to build meaningful connections, foster parental capacity, and manage complex behaviours with professionalism and confidence.

This casual position offers flexibility; however, we are seeking someone with 3–4 days availability, primarily focusing on afternoon and evening shifts (from 3:00 PM onwards), with opportunities for overnight stays and weekend availability.

What you will do

• In-Home & Community Support: Provide personalized, compassionate care and community access support to children and young people tailored to each family's goals.
• Family & Community Engagement: Foster parental capacity and engagement, assist with community access, and build positive, meaningful relationships with families.
• Behavior Support: Confidently manage challenging behaviors (including ADHD, Autism, and ODD) using positive behavior management techniques, empathy, and professional care.
• Overnight & Flexible Shifts: Provide reliable coverage for afternoon and evening routines (3:00 PM onwards), with flexibility for overnight stays when required.
• Documentation & Safety: Maintain clear shift documentation, log progress notes, and report safety updates or incidents in alignment with compliance guidelines.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

• Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience working with children and young people, with a strong background in managing complex or challenging behaviors (ADHD, Autism, ODD).
• Qualifications: Certificate III or IV in Child, Youth & Family Intervention (or an equivalent qualification) is preferred.
• Availability: 3–4 days availability working from 3:00 PM onwards (Monday to Friday), with flexibility for overnights and weekends (minimum 15 hours per week).
• Key Attributes: Excellent multitasking abilities, strong flexibility, adaptability, and high emotional resilience.
• Essential Credentials: Current Australian Driver’s Licence, reliable vehicle, valid NDIS Worker Screening Check, Working with Children Check (WWCC), and First Aid/CPR certificates.
