Research Assistant (Programme Evaluation)

We are looking for a Research Assistant (Programme Evaluation) to support ongoing programme evaluations and research studies related to developmental support. The successful candidate will contribute to various stages of the research process, including literature reviews, data collection and management, statistical analyses, stakeholder engagement, and research reporting.

This role is suitable for individuals who enjoy applied research and are keen to contribute to evidence-based programme development and evaluation.

The contract duration is up to 1 year.

Key Responsibilities

Research & Evaluation Support

Conduct literature reviews and environmental scans to inform programme evaluations and research studies.

Support the development of Programme Logic Models (PLM), Theory of Change (ToC), and evaluation frameworks.

Assist in the formulation of research questions and identification of relevant data sources.

Contribute to the planning and implementation of programme evaluations and research projects.

Data Collection & Management

Coordinate with programme sites and stakeholders to facilitate data collection activities.

Manage participant consent records and research databases.

Extract, collect, collate, and consolidate quantitative and qualitative data from multiple sources.

Design and administer online surveys and support interview data collection where required.

Perform data entry, cleaning, validation, and coding to ensure data quality and accuracy.

Data Analysis & Reporting

Conduct descriptive and inferential statistical analyses.

Support interpretation of research findings and evaluation outcomes.

Prepare research reports, presentation materials, and data summaries.

Present findings to internal and external stakeholders when required.

Stakeholder Coordination

Liaise with internal teams, programme partners, and service providers to support research activities.

Coordinate project timelines and follow up on data requests where necessary.

Administrative Support

Provide administrative and operational support for research and evaluation projects.

Undertake other ad-hoc research and project-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

Degree in Psychology, Early Childhood Education, Public Policy, or related fields.

Knowledge of research methodologies, programme evaluation, and data collection methods.

Familiarity with statistical software (e.g., SPSS, R, Stata, Python) would be advantageous.

Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Attributes

Interest in early childhood development, special needs, disability services, education, or social service research.

Detail-oriented with strong data management capabilities.

Comfortable engaging with multiple stakeholders and managing project timelines.
