This role is open to applicants who identify as Aboriginal only. Roles which involve directly providing programs and services to Aboriginal people for the purposes of promoting their welfare are considered to be ‘Aboriginal identified roles’ and are as such restricted to Aboriginal people only. This is permitted under Section 14(d) of the NSW Anti-Discrimination Act 1977.

KARI Foundation is looking to employ a dedicated, motivated and dynamic person to join our team.
The ideal candidate will:
Contribute to the design, development and reporting of KARIs Opportunity Hub program to ensure all key deliverables are met.
Provide academic, cultural and mentoring support to participants in schools across Metropolitan Sydney.
Provide support and advice to community, business networks, corporates and schools where appropriate.
Assist in the development and implementation of cultural, educational or employment programs.
Maintain regular, effective and meaningful contact with schools, children, young people, families, relevant agencies and key stakeholders.
Consult with Aboriginal Community, individuals and key partners or stakeholders as required.
Requirements:
Aboriginality (this is a designated Aboriginal-identified role)
Possession of a current NSW Driver’s license – Minimum P2
Willingness to Undertake a National Police Check
Current Working with Children’s Check
Skills and Experience:
Previous mentoring experience.
Ability to demonstrate excellent planning and time management skills.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Solid working knowledge and contemporary understanding of the issues faced by children and families, in particular the issues faced by Aboriginal communities.
