About the role
The Senior Health Information Manager provides broad exposure to the full scope of health information management within a modern digital healthcare environment at STARS. The role supports the effective management, governance and optimisation of health information systems and processes, ensuring the integrity, quality and accessibility of clinical information across the organisation.
The successful candidate will provide operational leadership for scanning and medical transcription services, contribute to health information governance activities, support clinical documentation improvement initiatives and assist with clinical coding optimisation. The role also plays a key part in maintaining data integrity, privacy compliance and continuous improvement initiatives that support safe, effective and patient-centred healthcare delivery.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
- Provide leadership and operational management of scanning and medical transcription services to support effective health information management practices.
- Drive continuous quality improvement in clinical documentation, data integrity and information governance through audit, analysis and stakeholder engagement.
- Support health information governance activities, including committee participation, reporting, privacy compliance and legislative obligations.
- Develop and apply expertise in clinical coding, health information systems and digital health applications to support service optimisation.
- Lead and contribute to health information projects, service improvements and strategic initiatives while fostering a collaborative and positive team culture.
