MelSafe Operations Response Officer

Looking for a role where no two days are the same? Join the City of Melville's MelSafe team and play a key role in keeping our community safe, welcoming and compliant.

As a MelSafe Response Officer, you'll be the City's frontline presence, delivering high-visibility patrols, responding to community concerns, enforcing local laws, and working closely with residents, businesses and partner agencies to achieve positive community safety outcomes.

Location: City of Melville Operations Centre

Employment Type: Temporary Full Time

Salary: Up to $104,244 p.a. + 12% Super (Base: $84,261.78 to $89,944.84 p.a.)

Roster: 7-on / 7-off rotating roster– day, afternoon & night shifts with additional shift payments of up to $14,300 per year

What You’ll Be Doing

As a MelSafe Response Officer, you will play a key role in delivering community safety services across the City of Melville. Working as part of a 24-hour operational team, you'll respond to community concerns, undertake proactive patrols, promote compliance with local laws, and build positive relationships with residents, businesses and partner agencies.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct proactive foot and vehicle patrols across the City.

Respond to community safety incidents, service requests and customer enquiries.

Investigate and address parking littering, noise and antisocial behaviour matters.

Enforce local laws and relevant legislation through education, warnings and compliance actions.

Collect evidence, prepare reports and maintain accurate operational records.

Work collaboratively with WA Police, community stakeholders and internal teams.

Support proactive community safety initiatives and targeted patrol operations

What We’re Looking For

Current C Class Driver's Licence

Current National Police Clearance (or ability to obtain)

Strong communication, negotiation and conflict resolution skills

Sound judgement and problem-solving ability.

Experience working in a frontline operational, compliance, security, community safety or law enforcement environment

Confidence engaging with a diverse range of people and managing challenging situations professionally

Strong written communication and reporting skills

Desirable experience

Community Safety, Ranger, Security or Compliance experience

Knowledge of local government legislation and enforcement practices

Experience using mobile technology, reporting systems or evidence collection platforms

Animal handling experience

Municipal Law Enforcement or ROCS qualifications
