DVP Settlements, Corporate Actions & Nominee Officer
We are hiring: a dynamic and innovative Australian financial services firm is looking for a Settlements Officer with at least 12 months' experience in Equity Operations, ideally with a strong settlements and corporate actions focus.
The role
You'll sit at the centre of settlements and corporate actions processing — liaising between financial advisers and our third-party clearing and settlements agent to ensure timely settlement of all client trading activity, monitoring market-driven corporate actions, and maintaining Nominee reconciliations. A strong understanding of the ASX clearing, settlements and custody cycle is essential.
Core responsibilities:
Monitor DVP settlement obligations and escalate unmatched DVP trades to relevant stakeholders
Monitor market-driven corporate action events impacting client positions
Identify and adjust client accounts impacted by corporate actions
Action dividends for head Nominee accounts
Facilitate ad-hoc settlement requests
Monitor daily control reporting to identify outstanding cash/stock obligations on client accounts
Ensure compliance with internal controls and procedures; assist in maintaining team procedures
Adhere to internal and market-wide policies, rules and regulations
Cross-train across other roles within the team
Support broader business initiatives, including project and data analysis work
What you'll bring
In-depth understanding of the clearing, settlements and custody cycle
Knowledge of CHESS and ASX business rules
In-depth understanding of ASX corporate actions processes
Excellent organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
Ability to work in a team and meet deadlines
High-level written and verbal communication skills
Strong computer literacy
