About the role

This is a full-time position working 5 days per week. You'll be responsible for delivering consistent, quality pub meals while working alongside our kitchen hands and management team.

Key responsibilities

Preparing and cooking quality pub-style meals

Managing day-to-day kitchen service

Maintaining consistency in presentation, quality and portion sizes

Assisting with menu development, specials and seasonal offerings

Helping introduce and develop new menu items

Adapting menus and service for functions, events and busy periods

Managing food preparation and ensuring the kitchen is ready for service

Monitoring stock levels and assisting with ordering

Maintaining a clean, organised and food-safe kitchen

Ensuring food safety and hygiene requirements are consistently followed

About you

Relevant commercial cookery qualifications

Previous experience working as a Chef

Experience in a pub, hotel, club or similar environment highly regarded

Strong knowledge of food safety and kitchen hygiene

Good organisation and time-management skills

An understanding of portion control, food costs and wastage

The ability to work independently and remain calm during busy services

A willingness to contribute ideas to menus, specials and events

Good communication skills and the ability to work well with kitchen hands and the wider hotel team

Flexibility to work across a 5-day roster, including weekends as required
