Job Brief
Our client is seeking a Management Accountant to take full ownership of month end reporting, journal preparation and reconciliations for part of a large business. This suits someone accurate and hands on, who enjoys bringing structure to processes and wants to see the direct result of their work rather than just maintaining a system someone else already built.

About Our Client
Our client is a large, well established organisation with a broad finance function supporting multiple areas of the business.

Responsibilities

• Own monthly P&L reporting and journal preparation for a business unit
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and follow up on variances
• Contribute to month end close activities
• Help untangle and correct how costs are allocated and charged across different parts of the business
• Field questions from operational stakeholders about cost movements
• Contribute to forecasting and budgeting cycles
• Work alongside the wider finance team on tidying up existing processes

Requirements

• Degree qualified in Accounting, Finance or related field
• CA or CPA qualified, or actively working towards it
• Solid background in financial or management accounting
• Strong Excel capability
• Comfortable operating without perfect data or fully defined processes
• Able to explain financial information clearly to people outside finance
