Join Curtin University’s Early Childhood Centre and play an important role in creating high-quality, inclusive learning experiences that help young children thrive.

We are seeking a passionate Diploma Educator, or someone currently working towards their Diploma, who shares Curtin’s values and is committed to creating a welcoming, inclusive environment where every child can reach their full potential.

You will bring a strong understanding of individualised learning and play-based approaches, with the ability to build positive relationships and create engaging experiences that support children’s development, learning and wellbeing.

In this role, you will, but are not limited to:

• Use the Early Years Learning Framework and the Centre Curriculum Guide for planning and evaluating the learning program.
• Implement strategies for the inclusion of all children and take responsibility for the environment as the third teacher.
• Work with a team approach within the operation of the centre, adhere to routines and rosters, and maintain and update records according to the Centre’s policies.
• Attend staff meetings and in-service training, follow safety protocols, and maintain age-appropriate limits of behaviour.
• Develop positive relationships with children, parents, and staff, support general cleaning and tidying tasks, and maintain confidentiality.

This Continuous role attracts a remuneration of $75,646 - $79,666 (ELC3) + 17% superannuation.

Selection Criteria

1. A Diploma in Children’s Services or equivalent or be currently working towards a Diploma.
2. Demonstrated ability to achieve outcomes effectively and within required timeframes.
3. Well-developed verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate positively with children, families and colleagues.
4. Demonstrated ability to provide a healthy, safe and inclusive environment that meets the needs of young children and aligns with the National Quality Standards and Early Years Learning Framework.
5. Demonstrated ability to develop and implement individual and group learning programs that respond to children’s interests, strengths and developmental needs.
6. A collaborative and flexible approach, with a willingness to work across all age groups within the Centre.in Children Services or working towards it.

It is expected that the candidates have a willingness to work with all age groups and to work shifts within the operating hours of 7:30 am to 6:00 pm, Monday to Friday.

Role Requirements:

1. As this is a fixed-term contract, you will require current work rights in Australia that match the tenure of this role
2. Successful applicants are subject to a National Police Clearance, and background, integrity, and reference checks to Curtin’s satisfaction
3. This role requires that the successful candidate must undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check
