About the Role
Backsafe Australia is seeking a hands-on Service Technician to diagnose, repair, assemble and commission battery-powered material handling equipment and electromechanical systems. Working from our Perth workshop, you will play a key role in ensuring equipment is delivered safely, reliably and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, electronic and electromechanical faults.
Repair and replace batteries, chargers, motors, wiring, switches, relays and control components.
Assemble, modify and prepare powered equipment for customer delivery.
Conduct testing, commissioning and quality control inspections.
Perform Test & Tag inspections in accordance with AS/NZS 3760.
Complete service reports and maintain accurate repair records.
Manage spare parts inventory and workshop stock levels.
Pick, pack and dispatch customer orders.
Operate forklifts and company vehicles safely and in accordance with company procedures.
Maintain a clean, safe and organised workshop environment.
Skills & Experience
Experience in a service technician, electrical, electronic, mechanical or electromechanical role.
Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
Ability to use electrical testing equipment and interpret technical documentation.
High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
Current Australian Driver's Licence.
Forklift Licence (LF) and Test & Tag qualification highly regarded.
