The Opportunity
This is not a desk-bound compliance role.
As our Workplace Health, Safety & Environment Advisor, you will be a visible presence across the business, partnering with leaders and employees to identify risks, solve problems, improve systems, and embed a genuine safety-first culture.
Reporting to the People, Culture & Safety Manager, you will play a key role in driving continuous improvement across safety, injury management, health monitoring, environmental management, compliance, and employee engagement.

What You'll Be Doing
Safety Leadership & Compliance
Support the delivery of GLT's People, Culture & Safety strategy.
Play an active role in shaping our Safety First Culture through employee engagement, education, and practical safety initiatives.
Maintain and improve WHSE system, documentation, and audits including digitalisation.
Conduct workplace inspections, audits, risk assessments, and safety observations.
Deliver engaging inductions, training programs, toolbox talks, and safety communications.
Monitor safety performance, identify trends, and implement practical improvement initiatives.
Support compliance with WHS legislation, standards, and company requirements.
Incident & Risk Management
Investigate incidents, near misses, hazards, and environmental events.
Identify root causes and drive corrective actions.
Monitor risk controls and ensure actions are completed effectively.
Promote proactive hazard identification and risk management practices.
Return to Work & Injury Management
Coordinate return-to-work programs and rehabilitation plans.
Liaise with injured workers, medical practitioners, rehabilitation providers, and insurers.
Monitor progress and support positive recovery outcomes.
Maintain accurate and confidential records.
Health & Environmental Programs
Coordinate health monitoring programs and occupational health requirements.
Support environmental management and compliance and sustainability initiatives alongside our amazing maintenance team
Assist with environmental investigations and corrective actions.
Safety Committee & Engagement
Coordinate monthly WHSE Committee meetings.
Support and guide Health & Safety Representatives.
Build strong relationships and influence safety outcomes at all levels of the business and with our external partners.
About You
You are passionate about safety, collaborative and practical in your approach, and confident working with people at all levels of an organisation.
You enjoy being in our manufacturing facility, understanding how work is performed, and helping leaders, supervisors, and employees find solutions that are both focussed and practical on health, safety, and environment.
You'll bring:
Tertiary qualifications in Workplace Health & Safety or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
Minimum 5-7 years' experience in a WHSE Advisor, Coordinator or similar role.
Experience within manufacturing, industrial, engineering, transport, construction, or operational environments.
Strong knowledge of WHS legislation and contemporary safety practices.
Experience reviewing and improvement of WHS systems, and conducting investigations, audits, risk assessments, and safety training.
Return-to-Work and Injury Management and Health Monitoring experience.
Strong communication, influencing, and relationship-building skills.
Education and training experience
The confidence, collaborative, and friendly approach to drive positive change.
Experience with ISO management systems (ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 highly regarded).
