About the Role

This role manages Council's workers compensation claims and injury management processes, supporting Council's status as a self‑insurer while ensuring compliance with legislation, policies, and effective day‑to‑day team operations. This includes:

  • Provision of specialist advice and assistance to Managers and Supervisors in relation to workers compensation policies, procedures, processes and legislation.
  • Management of workers compensation claims including claim determinations, claim estimations and claim reviews in accordance with legislation, SIRA guidelines and Standards of Practice.
  • Oversight and Coordination of all payments, and administrative processes for all Workers Compensation claims to a high standard of accuracy and meeting best practice to ensure continuation of Self Insurance arrangements for the Council.

The advertised salary is based on the grade of the position, comprising of 4 steps within the range shown. The starting salary is at Step 1 within the grade. Progression through the salary steps shall be based upon the achievement of performance objectives relating to the position.

About You

To be successful in the position, you will have:

  • Certificate IV in Personal Injury Management or equivalent, or extensive demonstration of experience in Workers Compensation Claims Management.
  • Current Class C Driver's Licence
  • Proof of Australian residency or citizenship, or authority to work in Australia (visa)

You are an organised and proactive professional with strong attention to detail and a sound understanding of workers compensation and injury management. You communicate confidently, manage competing priorities effectively, and are committed to compliance, risk management, and supporting positive outcomes for both employees and Council.
